On Beauty

Standard

My book club read On Beauty by Zadie Smith (I didn’t finish it because I wasn’t into it) this month.  The last discussion question was so poignant that I had to post it.

“The title On Beauty refers to many things…What do you think it means…to embrace beauty? What does it mean to be without it? What… are truly beautiful things?”

  1. To embrace beauty feels like I’m seeing the Divine, seeing the good in all things, the connectedness.

Hmmm, can you be without beauty? It makes me think of the movie is Life is Beautiful. Is beauty an attitude/perspective?

Truly beautiful things- my daughter, loved ones, laughter, a smile, the right words, music, art…raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…
