My goal this month was to write every day for 15 minutes. It’s not really working for me- 15 minutes isn’t enough to ‘get in the groove.’ Instead, I’m going to aim to write weekly for at least 90 minutes.
I’ve been thinking about writing a lot, and thinking about the writing that has moved me in some way over the years. Here are a few lines that I think are just fantastic:
“Spreading shadows, setting sun
crickets, curtains, day is done
A fire takes away the chill
all the world can hold quite still.”
-Liz Garton Scanlon from All the World
“When a fox is in the bottle where the tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle on a noodle-eating poodle, THIS is what they call a tweetle beetle noodle poodle bottled paddled muddled duddled fuddled wuddled fox in socks, sir!”
-Dr. Seuss from Fox in Socks
And you? What lines have been especially poignant to you?
